Whittaker Auto Salvage

I went here several years ago and the owner would charge very high prices for parts that would literally never leave the yard. He also made fun of my car. Very cool, Yingling, picking on your customers is a fantastic business model.

Very good pricing. If you have an old domestic this place is a goldmine. I would recommend bringing a good set of boots since this junk yard is built on an old lake bed and it can get muddy after rainstorms. They have the older cars that other yards just crush and the staff is amazing.

This is an old school junkyard run by really good people with fair prices. It is worth the drive.

Very helpful - called they confirmed they had the vehicle I needed, it was easily found and accessed, and the price was right.

Now I’ve been to plenty of auto salvage yards even out in Chicago but this one is by far the worse. I went in their needing multiple things. They asked me what I was looking for and I was naming things off they started to tell me “ehhh don’t think I have that, I don’t think I have that either, ehhh I’m pretty sure we don’t have that out their.” They were coming off as if they didn’t even want me to go in. When I finally went in I found all the things I was looking for including the motor I had called to inquire about. Such a disappointment cause it really is, or was I should say a great place to go near home.

They were great. Came to my house and picked up an old vehicle that was way out of it’s prime. It was a blessing.
